(for Deb)

With this ring
I am invisible,
…can run errands,
……can clean the house,
………can wash the laundry.
.
With this ring
I can be seen
…when I’m not there
……when I’m late,
………when my dishes stain the table,
…………when my shoes litter the floor.
.
With this ring
I can share
…the laughing in your heart
……the pains of the flesh
………the touch of your fingers
…………the joy in our children
……………the pulse of your life.
.
With this ring
I see the future
…till death do us part.
.

Magic in My Life arrived from my muse wholly formed, start-to-finish, a uniquely linear process. It was never “in progress,” it was always there, waiting for this moment to arrive. 01/08/07 @ 01:24:35 pm

On Christmas eve
there is no room
for anger.
.
The bedrooms
hold children.
The kitchen
holds sustenance.
The living rooms
hold life.
An angel
atop our green tree
guards all.
.
In the study
a conflagaration rages,
burning some forgotten fuel
–invisible to both eye and mind,
yet somehow able
to billow black smoke
into this silent night.

Be Not Afraid! I had a great Christmas: eve and day. The Fireside poem was cathartic. It surprised me: arrived in a rush, formed with virtually no editing, and purged me before darkness fell.
