his mother’s voice
For ten days i’ve been trying to capture the fleeting smile that Gabriel shows
only when my Nikon is pointed elsewhere. No kidding, my boy has ESP. Time and again
he’ll twitch his lips only to relax just before the flash. He may be young,
but he’s a crafty dude. It’s uncanny.
Come early Wednesday, dad’s on graveyard shift, and Deb sleepwalks into
the dining room. When he hears her shuffling footsteps, dad quickly focuses on
the tiny little super guy.
As mother speaks, Gabriel smiles.
